Collected by the world’s leading museums.
Artists within the Woodbury House programme are represented in the collections of major institutions including MoMA, Tate Modern, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Brooklyn Museum, LACMA and the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and many other leading public institutions.
…and many others across the national and international press.
Why collect with Woodbury House?
Woodbury House exists for collectors who value expertise as much as the artwork itself. From our private galleries in Mayfair and Dubai, we advise on acquiring historically important post-street and contemporary works through careful research, long-term relationships and independent judgement.
Over the past decade we have worked directly with many of the movement’s defining figures, alongside artists’ estates and established private collections.
We believe good advice begins with one principle. Your agenda becomes our agenda. Every recommendation is made because we genuinely believe the work merits your consideration — not because we need you to buy it.

Specialists, not generalists
We specialise exclusively in post-street and contemporary art, so every recommendation is informed by genuine depth rather than broad market knowledge.
Access beyond the open market
Through longstanding relationships with artists, estates and private collectors, we introduce works that rarely reach the open market.
Every artwork fully authenticated
Every acquisition is independently researched and accompanied by the relevant Certificate of Authenticity, provenance information and a detailed condition report before any decision is made.
A long-term collecting relationship
Our role rarely ends with an acquisition. We remain available to advise on future works, collection development and the long-term stewardship of your collection.
Trusted by collectors around the world.
Every collection begins differently, but the experience our collectors describe is remarkably consistent.
“The curation is world-class — every piece feels intentional, every collection tells a story. What sets Woodbury House apart is the team: incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, with no hard sell and no fluff — just honest guidance and deep expertise.”
“A rare mix of deep-rooted ethical standards and a genuinely warm approach. Sam went out of his way to help, without any agenda of forcing a sale — an ethical, personal and enriching experience at all stages.”
“I’ve built a long and trusted relationship with Woodbury House over the years. They’re knowledgeable, honest and effortlessly helpful — no pressure, just sound guidance. I look forward to continuing my collecting journey with them.”
“As a newbie to purchasing artwork, I found the communication and engagement excellent. It was more than the purchase process — it was the backstory of the artist, and the opportunity to meet him.”
“We were never rushed and never made to feel pressured. Afterwards, we were even escorted to celebrate our purchase. Thanks to Woodbury House for such a memorable experience.”
“A world-class art gallery in the most prestigious area of London. You’re greeted by original pieces from legendary artists and a team of professional, welcoming staff. It was an honour to be invited to see the collection.”
“Steve is incredibly passionate about the artists he represents, and that enthusiasm makes every visit memorable. The personal insight and knowledge really bring the artwork to life. Meeting the artists has made each piece even more special to us.”
Why are collectors increasingly drawn to post-street & graffiti art?
The world’s most important collections increasingly recognise post-street and graffiti art as one of the defining movements of the late twentieth century. What began on city walls now hangs in major museums worldwide.
Woodbury House works with both the pioneers who defined the movement and the contemporary artists continuing its evolution. Our understanding comes from long-term relationships with artists, estates and collectors — not simply from observing the market. That depth allows us to distinguish between what is merely available and what is genuinely worth your consideration.

The artists who defined a movement.
Every artist we represent is considered not simply for the quality of their work, but for their place within the wider history of contemporary art. Our role is to help collectors understand that context before making any acquisition.
Your specialist can introduce current works privately, provide full acquisition details and advise on how each opportunity sits within your wider collection.

“They are Richard Hambleton. It’s their passion. Their reason for being.”

No charts. No promises.
Just the work.
Art is often marketed through projections, selective graphs and promises that cannot be guaranteed. That is not our approach. We focus on the work itself: the artist, period, provenance, condition, rarity and cultural context.
Art is not a regulated financial product, no FCA protections apply, and values may fall as well as rise. Woodbury House provides art-market expertise, not financial advice. Our responsibility is to give you the clearest information available so you can make an informed collecting decision.
Asked honestly. Answered honestly.
I found you searching “art investment”. Is that what you do?
Woodbury House is an art gallery and specialist dealer, not a financial adviser. Many collectors begin their research using the term “art investment”, but art is not a regulated financial product, no FCA protections apply and values can fall as well as rise. Our role is to provide informed guidance on the artist, period, provenance, condition, rarity and institutional context surrounding a work. We help you make a considered acquisition — not a financial promise.
Is contemporary art a good investment?
Contemporary art can increase or decrease in value, and no responsible gallery can guarantee an outcome. It should not be treated as a substitute for a regulated financial product. Collectors nevertheless consider factors including historical significance, rarity, provenance, institutional recognition and the quality of the individual work — these are the areas in which our specialists can provide context. The final reason to acquire should still be that the work deserves a place in your collection.
Do you work with both new and established collectors?
Yes. Some clients are making a first significant acquisition; others are developing established international collections. Our advice begins with your level of experience, your interests and the type of work you wish to consider.
How do I know a work is genuine?
Before any acquisition, we provide the available provenance, the relevant Certificate of Authenticity, detailed condition information and any supporting documentation specific to the work. We also explain who issued the certificate and why the attribution is accepted.
Can you source works that are not publicly available?
Yes. Through relationships with artists, estates and private collectors, we are regularly introduced to works that do not appear on the open market. Sourcing begins with a private brief and is handled discreetly.
Can you advise on works offered elsewhere?
In selected circumstances, yes. Collectors may ask us to review the artist, provenance, condition, documentation and wider context of works offered privately or elsewhere in the market. Any review is agreed separately and does not constitute financial advice or a guarantee of future value.
Can I visit privately?
Yes. Private appointments are available at our Mayfair and Dubai galleries. We can prepare a focused selection in advance based on the artists, scale and value range you wish to consider.
Can you assist with delivery and installation internationally?
Yes. We coordinate specialist packing, insurance, shipping, customs documentation, framing and installation in the UK and internationally through established partners.
What price range do you work within?
Our programme includes editioned works in the low thousands through to important original works at six- and seven-figure values, with private placements exceeding £1 million. Your specialist will establish the relevant range privately and only introduce works that genuinely merit consideration within it.
What if I’m not ready to buy?
There is no expectation to acquire immediately. You are welcome to request the guide, visit an exhibition or begin a private conversation before deciding whether any opportunity is right for you.
Great collections are rarely built in a single acquisition. They are built through curiosity, patience and advice you can trust.
Let’s begin
the conversation.
Request the guide, arrange a private consultation or simply contact the gallery. Every enquiry is handled personally and in strict confidence.
Woodbury House are art specialists and dealers, not financial advisers, and nothing on this page is financial advice. Art is not a regulated financial product and no FCA protections apply. The value of art is variable and can go down as well as up.
