In collaboration with La Cantine du Faubourg, Woodbury House shared the art scene and story of Richard Hambleton, the flashpoint of the Downtown New York art movement, close friends of the late Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat… An elusive genius !Richard Hambleton is recognized as one of the most legendary pop expressionists in history. His work is world-renowned for having permeated the collective consciousness of its viewers as the largest social experiment through art.

On his work, Hambleton has been quoted : “… what makes them exciting is the power of the viewer’s imagination – that split second experience when you see the figures, that matters.” Richard Hambleton has influenced many of today’s best-known street artists, including Bansky and Blek le Rat. La Cantine du Faubourg is a unique setting for Richard Hambleton’s work and underscores our commitment to the arts. In November 2015, three never-before-seen original pieces and ten limited editions 1/1 will be displayed at La Cantine du Faubourg, reminding us of the vulnerability and intensity of human life.
